I like just about all plants but have a soft spot for Black, Green and Chocolate colored plants. I like the unusual and I am in serious zone denial so I grow plants that can't survive the harsh Chicago winters. The list is kind of long and some plants are rare and hard to find but don't be intimidated by it is mostly to give an idea of what I like, and that's just about anything. But I can always find room for caudex forming plants, bulbs, and plants that are native to Africa and anything weird looking.

ReplyDeleteHI,
ReplyDeletean idea we use for starting seeds,
we save CARDBOARD egg cartons, like Phils fresh, all winter long, and then in the spring sprinkle in the top soil, after cutting off the lid to use as a reinforced tray, or you can put them on cookie sheets, so that one can move the starters around in limited space. when they are wet and soggy, they tear apart easy, and can be transplanted directly into the soil.
Hey Corrie that's a really good one thanks for reminding me. You know if you break an egg just right you can start seeds in the shell also. Then you're really cutting down what you put in the trash. Also the shells could also go in your garden.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to re-post your comment here in under the post for newspaper seed posts.
