Troy-Bilt Battery-Powered Garden Cultivator:Giveaway!

A couple of years ago I reviewed the batter-powered garden trimmer and the TB154E garden cultivator from Troy-Bilt. Both of these garden tools have been a source of great help to me in the garden. In 2012 Troy-Bilt introduced the TBC57 cordless cultivator. A Lithium Ion battery-powered garden cultivator that’s easy to use, easy to assemble, and eliminates the need for gas and extension cords.

The TB154E is a great little cultivator, but the TBC57 is even better because it is battery-powered so you don’t need to worry about running over the extension cord when using it in the garden.

Features of the TBC57 Batter-powered garden cultivator

20 volt Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.
Light-weight deign.
Adjustable tilling width.
Easy to assemble and use.

Troy-Bilt has given me this garden cultivator for free to review (coming soon), and has provided me with one to giveaway to one lucky reader of this garden blog.

  1. Wow, very cool giveaway! This little tiller would be perfect to till up the raised beds in my vegetable garden. Mix in a little compost, a little leaf matter, and some organic amendments and we're ready to go for 2013!

  2. I would love to win a Troy-Bilt tiller for the garden! I have clay soil and have to build up all of my beds with compost before I can plant anything. With our drought this summer so many of my plants died, so I will be re-planting most of my beds soon and this would be a huge help!

  3. I so need this tiller! Last fall, we removed about 20 huge overgrown, ugly bushes from our front yard. In addition, I have overgrown beds surrounding the house that I had planned on removing this spring/summer. The drought stopped me from doing any replanting so this tiller would certainly help me with all my planting next year.

  4. Well, we have been talking (endlessly, without acting) about starting a new bed for raspberries at some point. This would probably be helpful for that somehow, right?

  5. I would love this tiller. I have a new space in my garden all picked out. I have poor hostas all growing on top of each other, and they really need a new garden space. With it being battery power it would also be easy to haul around and help others with their garden creation.

  6. What a generous giveaway! I would definitely eenlarge my cutting garden, then re-til several parts of the perennial garden that i am renovating, and then enlarge the veggie patch. That'the first weekend! Hope spelling doesn't count! Thanks

  7. I am still chastising myself for giving away my electric Troy Bilt tiller of old, and this post popped up right in time. We have a raised area in our backyard (63' x 12') that could really use some breaking up. I planted a cover crop last year which vastly improved the soil, but I'd like to incorporate some other good stuff as well. Crossing my fingers.

  8. Nice! I am a 57 year old part-time gardener. As in after a full days work I love to work the soil, smell the earth and enjoy the fruits of my labor. God has been good to use, we have a 25x25' vegetable garden with 5 add'l flower gardens around our yard. This little cultivator would be a blessing~ Thanks for the offer~!

  9. I have a small but 'doing OK' garden- and the The bane of my gardening adventure is CREEPING CHARLIE. I am constantly pulling it up, hoeing at it and on many a day my neighbors likely thought I was a madwoman out hacking at it. A nice little cultivator would make me appear sane. I have one on my wishlist!

  11. I have existing raised beds that I would use it on, plus a space in one of the only true sunny spots that I would love to tear the grass and ground cover out of to put a garden in.

Would love this for our garden, my husband and I expanded it this year (3x it's previous size) and we're not looking forward to getting it ready for the winter. This sure would help :)

I am just getting started with a garden and this would be ideal for me. The soil here is not the best and this would sure be a help with working in the compost now and getting the soil ready for spring planting.---Jean

  15. I would take up the weed-infested side yard and plant a rose and flower garden with the cultivator. Then, I'd let our locally=zoned elementary school borrow it for their new school garden. A good friend of mine is the teacher behind the effort and could use all the help they can get.

  16. I live in a non-profit nursing home and would use your product in a 20 X 30' garden bed that sits in front of our main dining room window

I'd use it to establish new beds and revamp the old ones.

  17. Sign. Me. Up! I have a list of new garden areas I want to start that I could use this for. This would have been great to have this year for a few new beds I started. I would definitely start by using it to clean up my perennial gardens.

  26. My husband and I could use this cultivator on the back part of our property to develop an area to create some raised garden beds for me to use from my wheelchair. I am currently writing a blog on accessible gardening and providing a facebook page for anyone interested in gardening who may need a little inspiration. I'm sharing adaptive technology as well as my pictures of my own gardens. I also share anything that appeals to me as a gardener. AccesstotheGarden@gmail.com

  27. Been so very eager to tear up my front lawn and put in a shortgrass prairie, and to document the process to encourage others to do the same. 0.7" of rain this summer = sustainability lessons, and example for my neighbors. I hope.

And I tweeted and google+ the giveaway!

  28. Nice giveaway! I'd use to cultivate the front garden and maybe make another attack at doing something with the side tree bed...and then there's the whole rear deck area in great need of help!

I'd use it to mix in organic matter to my current and future growing areas and edge some beds that need it. I'll also probably use it at my grandma's house to fix her flower beds.
I also tweeted it, my friend.
bigman1 at gmail dot com is my email, since I don't have me email listed on my blog.

  30. This would be perfect to cultivate my 4 raised garden beds 4'x8' each. It's possible to do by hand but this would be a great time saver. I like the idea of not dealing with gas too.
